Meh, not saying what she did is safe, but I used to ride behind the seats of my father’s A110 when I was a kid, and nobody found it scandalous. It certainly wasnt newspaper worthy.
Especially with the c4, it is not really a trunk. More like a big hatchback cockpit.

Haha, well the 309 gti was an awesome car really... Wouldn’t trade one for the A110 (1600sc that my father still owns today) but still an awesome car!

309 GTIs are getting rare but they are still semi affordable. You cannot say the same for A110s...
My friend had a regular 1.6l 309 (not the same that had me as a trunk passenger) that he had modified it into a lightened trackday GTI. It was a very fun car to drive. Sadly he scrapped the car after it became too bothersome to keep running.
I drove it couple of times in the local autoslalom races. Here’s one video with me driving with it.
If you are wondering about the weird colors my friend’s girlfriend decided to paint the the “racing livery” with their leftover kitchen renovation paint.

While not really looked upon as proper, I used to ride around in the hatch of my Mom’s CRX when I was younger. She was even pulled over once with me in the hatch. Cop didn’t say a word. In retrospect, it’s a pretty dumb place to ride.
